On very tough stains, sometimes the appropriate stain remover cannot remove the last traces of the stain. These residual stains can often be removed with the use of either a reducing bleach or an oxidizing bleach. Basically, the bleaches treat the last traces of stains as though they were dyes.
Because of its power and controllability, YellowGo is the best reducing bleach to use for this purpose. On white fabric, hot YellowGo solution will remove virtually any reducible stain. When working on colors, keep in mind that YellowGo is designed to remove dye, so work with a cooler solution and carefully monitor your progress. See our YellowGo videos for more information.
If a residual stain doesn't respond to YellowGo, it may not be reducible. In that case, move on to an oxidizing bleach that is capable of removing residual stains.
SoGo "S.M.R." is a powdered laundry stain remover whose unique, controlled chlorine bleaching action removes oxidizable residual stains. SoGo "S.M.R." can be used on both whites and color-fast colors and can be used alone or as a component of the SoGo Reclamation System.
PermaGo is a very powerful and effective permanganate-based oxidizing bleach. PermaGo should only be used on white fabric since it will remove or damage most dyes. PermaGo needs to be neutralized after use with either Hydrogen Peroxide or Fluoride Free RustGo. (See the directions on the PermaGo bottle or Product Overview.)
Generic oxygen bleaches such as Hydrogen Peroxide or Sodium Perborate can also be useful for removing the last traces of many stains on delicate colors or fabrics. See our Bleaching Tips for more details.
